MY15 MINUTES OF FAME

Tomorrow is my last day of normality for a few months. On Saturday morning I take off for London where I will meet up with a couple of Oz-Busers and on Sunday morning we board the adverture bus along with 16 other fellow travellers to take off for the wild blue yonder.

My friend, Doglover, the richest man in Surrey, drafted a press release which was sent to our local paper. Yesterday I was a no-body, now I'm a celeb! Take a look at this - good or what?

I am taking my laptop with me and, WiFi permitting, will keep both this and my travel blog updated. Toodle pip!

Of course, I posted this on Facebook. I am so jealous. If I had won the lottery, Ann, I would have come along with you. As it is, I will live vicariously! Have a joyful trip. Hope you packed quick drying undies!

I am excited for you especially when I found out that we are the same age. Gives me hope that maybe I can do something like this (only not on such a grand scale).

In fact, I just paused, closed my eyes, and imagined you having the time of your life. I pray that it all comes trure (and more). kt

It's here already!!! Darn it, I wanted to come and see you again before you went, but last week I wasn't at all good and hibernated.

Have a WONDERFUL time, Ann, and I will come and see you when you get back - I promise!

Love the newspaper article. You ARE famous!

Personally, I think that what R&C calls my press release was better than the story that appeared in the newspaper! It made the point that she was going to New York EASTWARDS!

And, you good readers, don't believe the "richest man in Surrey" bit. She made it up to excuse her and Davy's not paying me the amount I wanted when they bought my house from me years ago. And for refusing to buy their round of drinks on many subsequent occasions.

I can say all this rubbish because, with luck, Ann will now be too busy to look at her blog for several months ...

Yes, it would have been good to have had a catch up before I went Jay, but there will be so much more to talk about when I get back.

Thanks Mimi, I will endeavour to keep writing while I'm away.

Your press release WAS much better DogLover, but unfortunately they are a law unto themselves and interviewed me instead. Personally I think the article is very amateurish but hopefully it will result in a few more donations for Marie Curie.

As for you being the richest man in Surrey, I stand my this statement. You are also a "tight wad", hence the fortune.

Perhaps the only thing that might surpass this trip is hopping on a flight into space with that blonde chap - Sir Richard...
