A MATTER OF PERCEPTION

True conversation:

Youngster says “We have a gay in the family don’t we mummy”

Surprised mother “Do you know what that means?”

“It means when a man loves and man and a woman loves a woman”

“Not necessarily. I love my mummy and she’s a girl”

Youngster smiles knowingly “I know that! But you love Aunt xx don’t you?”

“Finish your breakfast and don’t be so silly”

And finally ....Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Well what is normal? That's what I'd like to know?

I asked Millie aged nearly 4 yrs if she'd come to the shop with me to get some apple juice. (She'd watched too much TV that morning and needed some exercise) She replied, "You know Grandma, You can go to the shop by yourself. You know where it is!"

Aah .. that's what my Mum used to say so often to me. In the end I stopped asking questions.

Children see things differently and may not be saying what we think they're saying. One of my sons once pointed to a black man as we walked past and said 'Oh look, Mum - there's a red man!' He was three, and the man was wearing a red jumper. LOL!

Normal?
Nor = not
mal = bad.

Therefore, nor + mal = not bad.
