MY GRANDSON

I'm sorry, I just can't help bragging about my wonderful grandchildren. Check this out http://cooler.mpora.com/features/foodie-alpine-love-fish-pips-experience.html.

That first photograph is my grandson Vinnie. He was The Times Chalet Chef of the Year. Isn't he handsome? The article is mainly about the company that he works for, but it just goes to show what a wonderful chef he is. I am so proud.

During the week I met Jay who writes The Depp Effect blog. We have known each other for some time on line and when we realised that we actually lived quite close to each other arranged a rendevous in a local bookshop cafe. It's very interesting to be able to put a face to someone and I'm glad to report that we got along famously. Thankfully she is totally bonkers too! I'm the one on the left. Don't you just hate seeing yourself in a photograph? Where's that 19 year old cow girls gone to? Ah well!

How fun to meet a fellow blogger! I met Mooooog (the Midget Man of Steel) a while back. I went to blog boot camp and had hoped to meet more, but none of the attendees were people I'd been following or had been following me.

What surprises me about the Fish & Pips website is that Holly and Philippa claim all the credit for the Times award and no mention at all is made of Vinnie.

Looking back on the Times website, the same is almost true. I can't find the report of the final, but Vinnie is only mentioned once in all the preliminary reports.

It was great to meet you, Ann! And yes, we did get along famously, didn't we? As for being bonkers, pop along and see what I had to say about the meeting. *Sniggers quietly*

Vinnie is indeed a handsome lad, and seems to love his work, which is always nice to see. And look! He's working on something chocolately with raspberries which has me won over rightawayquick! ;)

BTW - yes, I do hate seeing myself in photos! I had to half-close my eyes to post us on my blog!

Hi Ann. Yes Jay is bonkers, thank goodness. The world needs as many people with the right kind of insanity as possible. I know what you mean about having your photo taken too. Jay had to take one of me yesterday and I wasn't making it easy for her. lol. I've bookmarked your blog and I'm looking forward to the trip updates.

See, I think you both look great in the photos (I've popped over from Jay's place). Wonderful smiles.

I've had so much fun and really good laughs with Jay, but never 'live', so I can imagine you both had a great time.

And your grandson is very handsome. And a great cook too. What more could you want ;-)

I have a good friend who blogs...but we met long before our blogging days. Otherwise, I've met only one blogger, Chris Alba, a fellow poet who lives down in Templeton, CA. I met her for lunch last year when I was down in San Luis Obispo for a conference. We hit it off beautifully. I was supposed to be there this week for another forensic conference but just couldn't afford to go. We were planning another lunch rendevous.

Yes Eva, it was great fun to meet Jay.

I guess Fish & Pips arranged the publicity so they get the credit, but it does seem a bit mean they din't even name him.

Not only is Vinnie working with chocolate Jay, he also loves his Nan. He is just about perfect.

Thanks for the visit Caroline. My grandson catered for a birthday party at my house once and one of the guests commented that there is nothing sexier than a man that cooks!

I was looking forward to meeting up with you in San Francisco Carmen, but it looks like our trip by passes you. Drat, I was so looking forward to that.

I, too, have made a great friend, while blogging. She doesn't have a blog, but, she was one of my first followers (other than my family).

We have been emailing daily and, I found out that she doesn't live too far away from my daughter (who lives on the East Coast - I live in the Mid-West). When I visit my daughter this summer, my new friend and I plan on meeting half way. I can't wait to meet her (I'm trying to talk her into blogging) kt.
