I HAVE A LIFE OUTSIDE OF EASYJET! YEY!!

I got over excited yesterday when I googled easyjet and found that two of my blogs came up on the 1st page. I thought that all the hours wasted complaining to a sponge had not been in vane. I then found out that the reason I rank on the easyJet 1st page on my own computer is because I write bloody the blogs. Doohhhh!

The easyJet Customer Service "team" have been quiet for a few days. Have I stunned them into a respectful silence or are they totally bored with me? What will I do without them? They have been my reason for living. I know, I'll transfer my intellectual argument to Luton Airport, although I suspect they might already have the propaganda machine primed and waiting for my first email.

Putting easyJet to one side for a while, I had a brilliant weekend in London. I met up with my friend Sandy, granson Morgan and his partner Gwen for lunch at Kettners in Soho. A place I can highly recommend. In the evening Sandy and I went to the theatre to see The Million Dollar Quartet.  Fab-u-lous.

WE WILL ROCK YOU - QUEEN

Just got back from our London "girls" weekend away. What a great time we had, first meeting up for lunch with good friends from way back when and then on to "We Will Rock You" a show built around the music of Queen.

What a great musical that is and the cast is so talented. It's awsome to think how much talent there is around. At midnight we finally got chucked out of the restaurant next to our hotel. What a great way to end the weekend. I aim to make this year my most outrageous yet!

This was sent to me by a friend and uncannily smacks of realism!

Girls Night Out

A group of 40 year old girlfriends discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally, it was agreed upon that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the waiters there had tight pants and nice buns.

10 years later at 50 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the food there was very good and the wine selection was good also.

10 years later at 60 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because they could eat there in peace and quiet and the restaurant had a beautiful view of the ocean.

10 years later, at 70 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the restaurant was wheel chair accessible and they even had an elevator.

10 years later, at 80 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because they had never been there before.

HOPE FOR THE WORLD

I am going to very boring now and do a bragging grandma blog. My grandson Morgan is a graduate trainee at one of the big banks in the City of London. Recently he sat the Chartered Financial Analyst exam level 1 which has an international pass rate of 34% and scored nearly top marks. One of his friends emailed him to say "Congratulations mate! You’re one step further to being qualified to wreck the world’s economy." This loving grandma thinks that he is one step further to being qualified to save the world's economy! It's all a matter of perspective.

Now I have another grandson who went an entirely different route. Today he 'phoned me from the French Alps where he us working as a chef for the second year running. He cooks like an angel, skies like a demon, wins awards, is a babe magnet and the apple of his grandmother's eye.

And yet another who graduated from Nottingham University with a maths degree and couldn't get a job in finance. Did he moan and go on the dole? Not on your life, he took a job in a cocktail bar, plays in a band, has a wild social life and doesn't ask anyone for anything. He is Mr Niceguy, loved by everyone including, needless to say, this loving grandmother.

Yet another is doing great at Grammar school and in the middle of taking his GCSE's. He is optimistic, intelligent and always has a smile on his face. I love him dearly and hope that life gives him happiness and all that he would wish for. He lives with his aunt. I would love if he would live with me but we are a bit rural and he has a huge circle of friends in town. In fact, if I had my way I would have them all live with me but I'm old and they need young people about them.

HOWEVER, my grandaughter and her husband were so concerned for me when Davy died. They thought I would be lonely and moved in with me that night bring with them my four adorable great-grandchildren. The house is now full of laughter again and I love it. Also the activity keeps me from getting sombre.

They had been planning to build a house on the plot in our garden (sorry I should have said "my garden". It's sometimes hard to remember that I'm not an "our" any more) but IF they do they said they might rent it out because they love living with me. Early days yet though, we do have a "get out" clause if we start wanting to kill each other!!

The other grandchildren are still at school and don't have their lives mapped out before them yet. It will be interesting to see the paths that they take in life. ..........And then there are the greatgrandchildren, but that's the subject of another blog.

ECCENTRICITY REIGNS, OK?

Are friends an insight into ones personality? If they are, I’m in deep doda. Here is a recently email received, God help me, from one of my dearest friends:

Same old same old here and seriously so manically depressed with the pleut out of the sky - even resorted to buying REAL gardening shoes today - stupid me, should have been wellies!!!! But saw them too late - and returns policy in the market is probably a no-no!!!

Had planned on a dig-in my sons’ garden this week-end - but that's been out of the question so far - although as I type this its a bit like Hello Mudder Hello Farder - I look out and see the rain has stopped....... woman arrested at midnight digging holes in neighbours garden could be me!!! Have so many geraniums to plant, constable!!!!!!!!!!

Let me know how you are.

Loadsa

To look at this lady you would expect her to be extremely conventional. Indeed, in her heyday she had a very successful career in the City of London. It isn’t until you walk down the street with her that you realise she is not quite as you would imagine. Everyone wants to stop and talk to her including (I should add ESPECIALLY) the wild and wacky. Long live your eccentricity oh mad one. I’m privilege to be able to call you friend.
