There is a news item in the paper today about a Muslim police chief suing for being told to cook pork sausages and bacon. The article failed to mention why such an exaulted person would be expected to cook breakfast for his underlings anyway. I thought "this is a blatant misuse of human resources and typical of the kind of crazyness going on at the moment", or something like that. Then I scratched my head and thought "there must be something that I am not seeing here". There was - it is a story about a Muslim police chef!
As they say, retired? mmm - maybe: crazy? for sure.

Well... I am a semi vegetarian but I have to cook red meat for my tribe and just get on with it, even though sometimes it makes me want to heave. Same with school dinners. Some of the stews make me feel sick but I smile at the kids and say, "Lovely dinner today, eat it all up!"
Bureaucracy gone mad. I did read that article. If you are a cook, you have to cook things!
Lol. I am always doing that. Cos I don't get a lot of time to read newspapers, I speed read but always end up reading one thing when it actually says another. (ie chief instead of chef). I'm nervous about quoting something from a newspaper in case I've read it wrong!! You are not alone. But I ask the question, if he is a chef, shouldn't he be cooking what other people want to eat???
I do it a different way: I leave words out or spell them wrong.
I don't know how overcome this: I'll just have to concentric more, I suppose.

It's the best way to be - believe me! Flick xx
Sorry this is off-post, but I enjoyed your comment about Matthew Flinders.
Yes, I actually took some shots of him (OK, it was his statue) three days ago, so watch this space ....
But, why the heck did he take the job? And why the heck did someone give it to him if they knew he wouldn't want to cook those things, but they were on the menu??
I tell you, the Worlde has Gonne Madde!!!
But apparently Maggie and Jay his contract said that he didn't have to cook pork. So that's OK then isn't it! Do I sound pissed off. You'r right, I am!!
And I should have twigged too Rosario because we had a foster son who used to call the Little Chef Little Chief.
I don't believe that for a minute doglover, you are perfect.
Well, I guess I'm not going to change at my age anyway DS.
Thanks for your off-post visit David. I look forward to seeing your Matthew Flinders shots.
Chief, chef, what's the difference? Only one little letter. And if it's his job - what's his problem? M :-)
PS Did I mention that Mr. Picky is Muslim - he seems to be enjoying his sausages though.
