SUN, SUN, SUN

It´s so good to see the sun every morning. At home we invariably wake to overcast skies and that´s if we´re lucky. Most times it´s raining and miserable! I guess there are compensations though, like a comfortable bed. Talking of which I am going home to a new bed, delivered while I´ve been away. The story is that some time ago Davy and I went to a hotel and the bed was so comfortable that we vowed to buy ourselves one. I took the details and when I went to order one found out it was a contract item only available to the hotel trade.

Again, when Davy was ill in hospital in Cambridge I stayed over and slept in the same type of bed. More resolve, so we trawled our hotel contacts and found a kind hotelier willing to order me one. It took time, but it arrived last week. I am really looking forward to sleeping it and my only regret is that Davy could not be with me.

Today we are starting off with a short walk because it´s cooler in the morning, then a day of lounging in the sun, interspersed with visits to the restaurant or bar. Ahhh! Someones got to do it.

You are the most noble person, sacrificing yourself to sun and the bar. How I wish I could join you for the drink, at least...though you probably do gin which I have not liked except in a salty dog. Somehow, the smell of it, I can't stand....never in a martini, though I will drink it in a Singapore Sling, especially at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore!

Have fun!!

Hiya. Have been away at my mother's for a week and just come back. You sound as if you have been having fun (apart from the stolen items in your handbag!) Doglover sent me the dates for Soho and i see now it is July not June, as I had previously thought. Apart from Kay coming home towards the end of June for the summer and doing a few things together, the date you have chosen is my wedding anniversary! The first one without Greg in 34 years! Not quite sure how I want to spend it yet, but hope you'll understand if I don't meet up with you this time! Tempting as it is.....

You´ve been to Raffles Bar in Singapore Carmen! Respect!! That one has to be on my "bucket list". I also want to see Petra.

You can make up your mind at any time Addy. These anniversaries are going to be so difficult aren´t they. This trip to Soho is purely by chance my big ´0´ birthday and Davy always surprised me with a big party or something so I am grateful that I will be occupied on that day.

Have been away myself so not sure where you are! Glad to hear you are having some sunshine though. I have enjoyed a few Singapore Slings in the Long Bar at Raffles - loved it! A x
